Comissioned beauty-boudoir portraits

For this shoot we decided to use an old ladder as a prop and pose tool. The subject wanted something simple and subtle and not necessarily a nude or lingerie style shoot. Subtle colors and neutral tones were recommended to wear. The subject didn't want to smile so we did our best to avoid any subtle grins. These shoots can often be difficult because with clothing, subjects feel more comfortable with their bodies. Clothing can be forgiving and helps hide imperfections and any other thing the body does as it bends and moves underneath. I always feel additional pressure and responsibility to get the best shots I can with these shoots.

I don't typically like doing the same portrait for each client, but these simple poses and backdrops can work for most anyone.
